Laowa OOOM 25-100

Laowa has always walked it’s own path in the cinema lens offerings and they’ve been known to give customers options that weren’t available in the traditional market. After many successful lens projects, they launched the Laowa OOOM 25-100mm : the first ever zoom made by Laowa.

Optically, it very much ressembles an old angenieux zoom : low-ish contrast, colors a bit subdued but in a very pleasing way and not overly sharp compared to other modern offerings. Solidly built and parfocal, this lens is ready to meet rigorous conditions on set. Designed for S35 sensors, it has a clever trick up it’s sleeve : an included 1.4x expander that convert the lens to a 35-140mm T4 full frame lens. With a convenient 4x zoom ratio and a T2.9 aperture, it covers the most common focals in a single lens.
